We have a great addition to our collection... Evil Necklace!
Evil Necklace was made by our friend Janet from Janet Jewelry. Lidia and Janet met in New York at a fashion event and always talked about a collaborative project. Finally the time has come and Evil Necklace is here! Hope you enjoy it!
Janetjewelry.com was created because of Janet's love of accessories, sterling silver and self-expression. Creating fun and unique jewelry is how Janet expresses her value of having choices. On janetjewelry.com customers can pretty much design their own jewelry by choosing from different colors and sizes of jewelry.

Japanese designers are not afraid to take chances
Japan Fashion Week has ended today. I have to be honest, I didn't know that Japan had their own fashion week. Now that I found out about, I'm fascinated by it. I looked at all the collections and admired the variety of styles and inspirations. I came to one conclusion: "Japanese designers are not afraid to take chances." This is an event I'd love to be part of.

Happy Birthday, Mies van der Rohe!
Mies van der Rohe a.k.a. the “father of modern architecture" was born today 123 years ago.
Quoting The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia:
"He left Germany in 1937 for the United States, where, from 1938 until his retirement in 1958, he headed the department of architecture at Chicago's Armour Institute (now the Illinois Institute of Technology), teaching and putting into practice the Bauhaus aesthetic that fused art with technology. There he planned the new campus and designed (1942–58) several of its buildings, notably the superb Crown Hall (1956), home of the architecture department."
We at Evil Kitty, along with other designers, celebrated his birthday on Wednesday right there at the Crown Hall. The Mies van der Rohe Society invited 8 Chicago designers to create garments based on Mies' landmarks. The event called "Van der Vogue" was also a fundraiser for ailing Carr Chapel which was Mies' only religious design. The building needs major renovations.
Carr Chapel was the building that was assigned to me. I had to admit that I was more inspired by its interior that exterior.
Hope you like my interpretation.

Sunday, Oh Sunday
While the entire week is preoccupied by Evil Kitty, Sunday is more relaxing. I usually catch up with some of the current affairs.
Today I discovered that Jack White has formed yet another band, The Dead Weather. I've always liked Jack, but this is not the reason the story caught my attention. I really love the singer, Allison Mosshart who is also The Kills lead singer. I absolutely looooooooove The Kills.
I actually met Allison at Starbucks (Macy's on State, Chicago) the day of her Lollapalooza gig. I acted like such a fan. If the encounter wasn't embarassing enough, I professed my love to her. Somehow I managed to get an autograph.

Spring is just around the corner (we hope), and that means that it’s time for a new collection.
Some new items are already added to the website. Check out the Evil Kitty Jersey Dress. Its versatility is a staple for spring and summer.
Now check out our new Evil Kitty Explosion Top. This top has a great graphic up front. It has all Evil Kitty logos mixed together. The top has 3/4 sleeves and is made from a very light and sheer cotton fabric.
