Trunk Show Wrap-Up

The Evil Kitty Trunk Show this past weekend was a fabulous success!! The new Spring collection looked amazing on the models, and everyone who attended left with a smile on their face and a treat in their hands.

I was so impressed by the amount of creative talent in that room. The work that was being done by the stylists and make-up artists from Sugar and Spice was stunning. They put out their best ideas and turned a handful of pretty but plain women into the shockingly gorgeous Alice In Wonderland themed dress models that were lounging and mingling around the event space. My personal favorite was the Red Queen, with her giant heart-shaped hair and savage red eyeshadow under coal defined brows. But of course, who could forget the White Queen, our lovely male model in drag with a personality on par with the playful and unique white corset top and matching feather-accented skirt he was was rockin'.

Not only did they do a great job with the models, but they made our very own 'Woman of Glamour' Lidia, look like a million bucks. She was sporting her signature blue and black lace dress from the Spring collection. Many of the attendees of the event also left with shiny lips and dazzling eyes, that is if they didn't lose some of their lipstick on the yummy treats that were there!

Swim Cafe helped promote our event by baking up some sweet and savory treats for the shoppers. I indulged in a few myself- but who could resist the cupcakes, frosted in theme with the Blue spring collection. There was Vegan Vanilla Bean - Yum! - Red Velvet, and Double Chocolate deliciousness! Another must try was the lavender rosemary scone. Karen and Tiff baked the goodies themselves, and the real treat was to see how much fun they were having watching everyone devour them!

Over all, this event was a Must, and I hope that you all had a chance to stop by and meet Lidia and see the wonderful new spring collection. If you missed it, be sure to keep checking back- there are many exciting things happening here, and the collection is still available online at www.evilkitty.net.

Evil kitty Trunk Show This Saturday!

The Evil Kitty trunk Show is right around the corner, and we could not be more excited! In addition to seeing the much anticipated Spring collection in it’s lovely shades of blue, we have gotten some really great contributors for the event. Bust-- our favorite ‘fierce, funny, and proud to be female’ magazine, will be giving out free copies of their publication; Swim CafĂ©- a yummy little spot in Noble Square worth raving about- will be providing sweet treats; the infamous Sugar and Spice will be getting you glamorous with free mini makeovers; and many other little surprises including organic teas and lip balms are awaiting you THIS SATURDAY!! at 11am.

Everyone has been putting so much work into ensuring that this will be an event to remember. I can’t wait to see the live models that will be wearing pieces from the new collection- it will be like our own private runway show right there in the store.

Comparisons have been made between Lidia’s newest collection for Evil Kitty, and the creative costuming behind Tim Burton’s latest film ‘Alice in Wonderland’, and after seeing the movie last night, I have to agree. Lidia brings the same sense of innocence and creative abandon edged with a subtly feminine and punk appeal that Alice’s gowns brought to the ravaged yet intensely beautiful world of Wonderland. Maybe you will have your own comparisons to make of the new collection- we want to hear them!

There’s a lot to look forward to this weekend. Of course, none of it would have been possible without the support of the 900 Shops, the Fashion Incubator, and the encouragement of our loyal fashionistas. And don’t forget- the first 30 people in line at 11am get a free goodie bag if you’ve RSVP’d, so send us a shout at lidia@evilkitty.net. See you there!
