Spring into Glamour and the Future with EVIL KITTY TODAY!!

Warm weather is right around the corner (we hope!) and with the sun and rising temperatures comes Spring attire. Designers across the county are coming out with their fresh lines in sweet colors and soft fabrics. At Evil Kitty, our Spring line in soft blues and cotton candy pinks will hit the racks tomorrow at the POP UP shop at the 900 Shops on N. Michigan from 2pm to 7pm.

Everyone here at Evil Kitty is itching with excitement for the event today! We’re welcoming back two of our favorite sponsors this year that we know will make this event worth attending. SYS Creative Imagery, the masterminds behind the whimsical hair and makeup, will be glamorizing the models with a sultry look and giving guests mini makeovers! Chicago’s own , crafters of delectable food will be providing small bites and Cacao Sweets & Treats will be providing sweet treats that will accentuate the girly-punk style of Evil Kitty.

The fashion show starts at 5:30pm, but make sure to get their early to claim your blue and black polka-dot goody bag if you’re one of the first 20 guests that have RSVP’d. You’ll get a complimentary copy of Chicago Collection Magazine, makeup from SYS Creative Imagery and more! Spend the day perusing the racks (including a sale rack!), watching the models mingling in the crowd, relaxing during a complimentary makeover, and snacking on delicious treats from Swim Cafe and Cacao Sweets & Treats.

Evil kitty Trunk Show This Saturday!

The Evil Kitty trunk Show is right around the corner, and we could not be more excited! In addition to seeing the much anticipated Spring collection in it’s lovely shades of blue, we have gotten some really great contributors for the event. Bust-- our favorite ‘fierce, funny, and proud to be female’ magazine, will be giving out free copies of their publication; Swim Café- a yummy little spot in Noble Square worth raving about- will be providing sweet treats; the infamous Sugar and Spice will be getting you glamorous with free mini makeovers; and many other little surprises including organic teas and lip balms are awaiting you THIS SATURDAY!! at 11am.

Everyone has been putting so much work into ensuring that this will be an event to remember. I can’t wait to see the live models that will be wearing pieces from the new collection- it will be like our own private runway show right there in the store.

Comparisons have been made between Lidia’s newest collection for Evil Kitty, and the creative costuming behind Tim Burton’s latest film ‘Alice in Wonderland’, and after seeing the movie last night, I have to agree. Lidia brings the same sense of innocence and creative abandon edged with a subtly feminine and punk appeal that Alice’s gowns brought to the ravaged yet intensely beautiful world of Wonderland. Maybe you will have your own comparisons to make of the new collection- we want to hear them!

There’s a lot to look forward to this weekend. Of course, none of it would have been possible without the support of the 900 Shops, the Fashion Incubator, and the encouragement of our loyal fashionistas. Evil Kitty collection at the prestigious 900 SHOPS

The opening of the LAUNCH SHOP at The 900 Shops was a success. Guests paid $25 to meet the new designers accepted by the Chicago Fashion Incubator, to support the program, as well as to shop for the latest styles from the CFI's alumni.

I arrived quite early and the place was already crowded. The new kids were exhibiting their creations in the "event room," drinks were flowing and everyone seemed to have a good time. It was nice to see so many familiar faces. After a chat with Meghan from Style Admirer, I made my way to the boutique. Of course, the dress that was put on the mannequin was the same dress I chose to wear that evening! I hope my "Lace Mini Dress" stuck in people's mind.

 CFI's Launch Shop is located on the 5th floor of The 900 Shops, at 900 North Michigan Avenue. The hours are: Thur-Sat 10am-7pm, Sunday 12-6pm. Stop by and buy some new 2010 Evil Kitty dresses. The shop will only stay open for a month, till April 18th.
